Faunara types and matchups: use the game’s own chart
Faunara uses its own 13-element battle system, including Plant, Fire, Water, Earth, Fungus and Wild. Its matchup multipliers and immunities differ from Pokémon, so use Faunara’s actual rules.

The thirteen elements
The inspected battle core lists Plant, Fire, Water, Air, Earth, Rock, Fungus, Marsh, Electric, Metal, Ice, Spirit and Wild. These are Faunara's categories. Similar names in another creature-collecting game do not establish identical effectiveness or damage rules.
The base matchup function considers the attacking element and the target's distinct types. A listed advantage multiplies by 1.5; a reverse relationship applies the resistance factor. Multiple types combine, and the final ordinary factor is bounded by the current implementation. Move-specific properties and traits can further affect the result.
Examples from the current battle core
| Attacking element | Listed favorable target elements |
|---|---|
| Plant | Water, Earth |
| Fire | Plant, Fungus, Ice |
| Water | Fire, Rock |
| Earth | Electric, Fire |
| Electric | Water, Air |
| Rock | Air, Ice |
This table is a selected teaching extract, not a replacement for reading the live creature and move information. It intentionally does not relabel Fungus as a familiar external type or assume that Wild inherits another game's “normal” rules.
Dual types and immunity
The inspected rules make Electric attacks ineffective against a target with Earth typing. Earth attacks also check an ungrounded trait unless the target has been grounded. A trait or temporary type change can therefore matter beyond a simple visual guess about the model.
For a dual-type target, check both types. One weakness does not automatically describe the complete result: another relationship may offset it, combine with it or introduce immunity. The source's tests include dual-type examples precisely because a single-type shortcut can give the wrong answer.
Turn a matchup into a useful decision
First identify the move's actual element. Then read the opponent's current types and any relevant state. Finally, compare the move's range, energy and reliability. An advantageous attack that repeatedly misses is not automatically the best practical choice.
Try comparing two available moves against the same appropriate encounter while holding positioning reasonably steady. That is a learning exercise, not a controlled damage benchmark. Never infer an exact multiplier solely from one damage number, because move power, levels and other rules can differ.
For broader battle decisions, read the combat guide. The existing Pokémon tools elsewhere on PlayKORE are explicitly for Pokémon; they must not be used as a Faunara calculator.
