Faunara starters: Pebblit, Cinderoo and Dewhopper

Faunara’s starter choices are Pebblit, Cinderoo and Dewhopper. Select a starter during the opening; new starters are presented as closed Fauna Cubes before their reveal.

Choose a companion, not a promised tier-list winner

Pebblit, Cinderoo and Dewhopper are the current new-journey starter choices. Pick the creature you want to travel with and learn first. A universal “best starter” would require comparative testing across the current campaign, encounters and move balance; this guide does not pretend that work has been completed.

The opening uses closed Fauna Cubes. A closed cube is part of the introduction, so it is normal not to see a fully active creature before the reveal. Follow the selection and confirmation prompts rather than trying to throw a capture cube at this stage.

Starter selection and capture supplies are different steps

Receiving a starter does not mean every capture system is immediately unlocked. The starter-restoration objective and conversation with Professor Alder lead into the initial cube supply. If the bag does not yet offer the expected capture options, inspect the story objective before starting another save.

A starter is tracked in the collection as a specific companion record, not just a species name. That record carries progress such as level and learned moves. Keep using the original journey when you want to continue building the same companion; creating a new slot starts a separate adventure.

How to compare your starter in practice

Read the equipped moves, then try one move at a time. Notice how far it reaches, when the creature becomes ready again and how much energy remains. A visually large effect does not tell you all of a move's properties. Test against an appropriate early opponent rather than assuming that familiar-looking creatures follow another game's rules.

As your party grows, compare roles instead of judging everything against one starter. Coverage, reliable attacks and comfortable movement can be more useful than a small advantage in a single matchup. See types and matchups for the game's own element system.

Already have a journey?

Use Continue to return to the existing starter. This page does not recommend deleting a save to change one early choice. For a genuinely separate playthrough, choose an empty slot and keep the old journey available. The save guide explains the five-slot structure and browser-storage precautions.
