Faunara beginner guide: your first journey

Start with the right save slot

Open Faunara and choose New Game. The title screen is a menu, not an automatic journey: looking at it should not consume a save slot. Choose an empty slot deliberately, then complete the name and starting-character choices. If you already have a journey, use Continue and inspect the slot labels before selecting one. There are five original adventure slots.

Treat the opening as part of the game. It introduces your trainer and starter rather than dropping you into a disposable performance demo. Let an active dialogue finish, read the current instruction and use the confirm prompt. If the scene seems unresponsive, check for a visible dialogue or menu before repeatedly pressing movement keys.

Your first practical goals

1. Meet the opening characters and make your starter choice.
2. Learn movement and camera control somewhere safe.
3. Open the pause menu and locate Journey, Party, Bag and Map.
4. Follow the current story objective instead of assuming every nearby activity is already unlocked.
5. Return to a familiar town location before making a longer exploration trip.

Humans explore, evade and command fauna; your trainer does not perform the creature's attacks. In a battle, focus on where your active fauna is, which target it is facing and which moves you have equipped. That distinction makes the first fight easier to understand.

Capturing comes after the opening steps

A new player should not interpret missing capture supplies as a broken inventory. The current capture flow unlocks initial cubes through Professor Alder after the starter-restoration step. Read catching fauna before spending supplies. Ordinary short meadow grass and encounter-producing tall grass have different roles; watch the environment rather than assuming every patch behaves alike.

Make progress without losing your bearings

Use the map and current objective together. The map answers where you are; the objective answers what to do next. After a battle, inspect your party and resources before continuing. If you need to stop, return to the game's own save and title flow and confirm that Continue offers your journey.
