Faunara saves: five slots, Continue and recovery
Faunara has five original adventure save slots. Use Continue for an existing journey, keep the same browser profile, and protect browser storage before troubleshooting or switching devices.
New Game and Continue have different jobs
New Game starts a separate journey in a chosen empty slot. Continue selects an existing adventure. Opening the title screen alone should not create a journey, overwrite a slot or start the world. Read the slot's identifying details before confirming, particularly when more than one person uses the browser.
The original adventure storage contract uses the key faunara.games.v1. That is a technical identifier for the existing save system, not a command you need to enter. The SEO upgrade preserves that contract and the five-slot chooser.
Keep the storage location consistent
Browser-local data belongs to a browser profile and site origin. A different browser, private window or device does not automatically share that same local storage. The misspelled legacy Faunara path and the current play path are on the same site, but switching to a different hostname can still change the origin.
Account services may provide additional save features where configured. Do not assume a successful sign-in proves a particular journey has uploaded or restored. Confirm the game's actual save status and inspect the expected slot after a deliberate return to the title.

A safe troubleshooting order
- Stop creating new journeys while investigating a missing one.
- Return to the original browser profile and normal browsing mode.
- Reopen the canonical play page and inspect Continue.
- Check any visible save or account-service error before retrying.
- Retain existing data and available backups before clearing caches or site storage.
Clearing site data is different from closing a tab. It can remove local saves. Private browsing may also discard local storage when the session ends. Neither is a useful first diagnostic step for a journey you want to keep.
What this guide does not promise
Existing migration and recovery paths are preserved, but no web page can reconstruct a save that was never retained or successfully synchronized. This guide does not direct you to edit raw JSON or delete unknown storage keys. If recovery needs technical investigation, retain the browser profile, the affected slot's visible details and the error wording. Those are more useful than repeatedly starting over.
