How to catch fauna in Faunara

Unlock your initial cubes

The current capture source explicitly gates initial cube access. Restore your starter, then speak to Professor Alder outside the medical center for your first Fauna Cubes. The opening starter cube and your later supply of capture cubes are different pieces of the journey.

If a capture option is unavailable early on, check the objective and that conversation before assuming the bag is broken. The source includes the unlock state separately from the number of cubes in inventory, so having reached a town is not by itself proof that capture is ready.

Check the target before spending supplies

Capture operates on eligible wild creatures, not every character or object in the world. An already captured or otherwise ineligible entity does not become valid because you press again. Keep the intended creature in view and use the displayed capture action for your current control scheme.

The calculation considers the creature's condition and level as well as cube tuning. This is why two attempts on visually similar targets can have different outcomes. No exact universal percentage is advertised here: the live state matters, and a successful action still depends on the applicable rules.

Plan the attempt

1. Confirm cube access is unlocked and inspect your supply.
2. Identify the eligible wild target rather than an allied or trainer-owned creature.
3. Manage its condition without accidentally ending the opportunity.
4. Make one deliberate capture attempt and read the result.
5. Check Party or collection afterward before spending another cube.

Practical advice: learn the flow on an appropriate early encounter, where it is easier to see what each input does. Do not use a difficult opponent as your first test of unfamiliar controls. If aiming is the problem, revisit controls; if survival is the problem, revisit combat.

After a successful catch

A caught fauna becomes a collection record with species, level and other companion data. Learning eligibility comes from that species' rules, not from the shape of its model or a similar creature in another game. Inspect its available moves and party role before immediately replacing a familiar companion.

If repeated attempts fail, separate eligibility, supplies, target condition and aim into individual checks. Buying or using more cubes does not fix a locked story step. Likewise, reaching the correct story step does not guarantee every possible target is catchable. This guide explains the inspected capture system and leaves individual encounter exceptions visible rather than promising universal capture.
