Faunara progression: trainer XP, levels and customization

Trainer level is not quest completion

The approved trainer progression rule is battle-earned XP. Completing a story objective and raising trainer level are related parts of the adventure, but they are not interchangeable. If a quest updates without a trainer-level increase, that does not by itself indicate lost experience.

The progression helper derives level from accumulated XP using explicit thresholds. It also applies a maximum level of 999. That cap is a rule boundary, not a recommendation that a new player should grind to the cap or a claim that the whole campaign has been tuned through every level.

The level 10 customization gate

New journeys begin with the starting-character choice in the introduction. Broader character customization unlocks at trainer level 10. If the customization option remains locked early on, inspect your trainer level before looking for a missing cosmetic purchase or starting another journey.

A companion's move list comes from its own species and learning rules. A trainer-level milestone does not mean every fauna learns the same attack at the same time. Inspect the active companion rather than treating the party as one shared move list.

Choose useful practice over blind repetition

A practical progression session can have one goal: become comfortable with a particular encounter and move setup. Watch how reliably you avoid damage, how much energy a normal exchange consumes and whether the battle outcome awards the expected progress.

If the fight is not going well, change one factor at a time. Adjust positioning, try a different suitable move or prepare supplies. Repeating an encounter while ignoring the same range error is less informative than a short focused practice.

Check gates individually

Some progression helpers combine a level requirement with an explicit learned or unlocked flag. Reaching a displayed level is therefore not always enough to activate an ability. Read the actual requirement text and the relevant story or training instruction.

It does not publish a fabricated fastest-XP route or guarantee an unlock solely because a source definition exists.
