K.O.R.E. roster selection: available fighters and variants

Choose a currently selectable K.O.R.E. fighter from the live roster. Availability, unlock state and variants are separate from the number of character definitions stored in the project.

Use the live selection screen

The selection screen tells you which fighters are available in the current release and mode. A character definition in a repository does not by itself prove that the fighter is selectable, unlocked or fully verified. For that reason this guide does not turn a raw file count into a headline roster promise.

K.O.R.E.'s source separates playable/selectable checks and unlock conditions. If a portrait is visible but unavailable, read its current status rather than treating the portrait alone as proof that selection failed.

Choose one fighter to learn first

Pick a fighter you can select now and use a short Training session. Learn the movement and one dependable attack before comparing the entire roster. A recognizable character name does not guarantee the same moves, timing or commands as another game featuring that name.

Check the current move list and control scheme. Slot names such as attack 1 or special identify inputs, while the fighter's authored data determines the actual behavior. See controls for the default keyboard mapping.

Variants need their own checks

A variant can have a relationship to a base fighter without being identical in every rule or asset. Inspect the selected version's displayed information and actual moves. Do not assume a variant inherits every unlock state, animation or matchup property simply from its name.

Selection questionReliable check
Can I play this fighter now?Live availability in the current mode
Why is it locked?Current unlock/status information
Does this variant play the same? Its own move information and a practice session
Can I add my own fighter?Supported authoring workflow and endpoint availability

Roster breadth is different from fidelity

A large catalog can contain different levels of visual and behavioral completion. Sprite cropping, orientation, animation scale and move data all affect the quality of an individual fighter. A screenshot or name list cannot certify those details across an entire roster.

This guide therefore focuses on using the current selection flow. It does not present an untested tier list or claim universal balance. When reporting an issue, include the exact fighter/variant, mode and move, rather than only a franchise name.

Want to create a fighter?

Read custom fighters and imports before preparing assets. The inspected source uses sprite-sheet authoring and development save endpoints; it is not evidence that the production browser accepts arbitrary MUGEN character ZIPs. For ordinary play, choose the current roster and continue into Training.

Coverage: Named source passages inspected; practical routines are original advice. Production entry and selected source comparisons are recorded separately. No whole-roster, full-campaign, physical-device or universal network certification.

First-party facts: Named runtime/source passages and the selected live entry checks recorded here. Original additions: Explanations, comparison framing and practice routines. Gaps: No full-campaign, whole-roster, universal device or network certification. Development tooling is distinct from public capabilities.

K.O.R.E., MUGEN and IKEMEN GO: what differs?

K.O.R.E. is an independent 3D browser fighter. IKEMEN GO describes support for MUGEN resources and a compatibility goal. Choose by the current engine, supported content and workflow rather than treating the names as interchangeable.
