Separate the original release from later support
The project history says the original Uranium release arrived in August 2016 and original support stopped soon afterward. A community team then continued development. That history matters when comparing an old download link with a current community package.
The linked community site explains the continuation and provides the route to its download and support information. A search result with a familiar title is not enough to establish that it is maintained by that team.
It is not an emulator cartridge
Uranium is built as a standalone fan game. A GBA emulator does not turn its desktop game folder into a playable cartridge. Read the platform and runtime instructions for the actual package.
Use a full download for a new installation and follow any documented patcher workflow for updates. Keep required files together after extraction rather than launching from inside the archive.
Know where progress is stored
Create a normal save and identify its location using the current project instructions. Back it up before an update or a compatibility experiment. A game folder and its save folder may be separate, so copying only the executable is not a backup plan.
Check platform workarounds carefully
A community workaround for Mac, Linux or a mobile runtime is not the same as a supported native release. Compare the guide’s version and date with your package and preserve a clean copy before changing files.
This page records project provenance and a practical setup sequence. It does not claim that PlayKORE has tested the latest Uranium build or its online features on every supported platform.
