The edition adds more than a platform label
The announced additions include the Hero Shimmer and a defensive-battle mode called Heroes’ Vault. Nintendo also describes expanded voice presentation for event scenes and Switch 2 display/performance features.
Those are publisher claims about the edition. This page does not turn them into measured frame-rate results or assume every scene has been independently tested.
Understand the upgrade route
If you own the Switch base game, inspect the upgrade pack and its requirements. A complete edition listing and an upgrade listing solve different ownership situations.
Nintendo’s notice distinguishes the base Switch game from the additional Switch 2 features. Original Switch hardware does not gain the new edition’s technical features simply by using a similarly named package.
Heroes’ Vault has its own structure
The description centers on defeating enemies, strengthening your forces and preparing for a later major foe. That is a separate mode rather than proof that the entire main story was replaced.
If your main interest is the new Hero or a specific mode, check how it unlocks and what progress is needed when fuller instructions become available.
Keep the display requirements visible
A 4K TV-mode feature needs a suitable display. Handheld mode has its own presentation. Compare the exact supported modes rather than treating one headline resolution as the same experience everywhere.
Before choosing a package, verify base-game ownership, the current upgrade offering and any save compatibility notice. Those are more actionable than assuming every Switch 2 Edition works identically.
