Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity Definitive Edition: confirmed details

Recognize the style of game

Age of Calamity is a Warriors-style action adventure connected to the world of Breath of the Wild. It is not a direct replacement for that game’s open-world exploration and puzzle structure.

The product listing places the story a century before Breath of the Wild. This profile avoids treating that short description as permission to spoil the campaign or explain every narrative connection.

Save and DLC rules are explicit

Nintendo’s notice says the Definitive Edition save is not compatible with the Switch version and that the older version’s DLC is not compatible with this edition. Those statements matter more than assuming “Definitive” means a seamless continuation of every purchase and save.

Read the current package contents to see what is included. Do not buy older DLC expecting it to attach to a different edition without support.

Existing-owner offers have conditions

The listing describes a discount route for eligible physical or digital owners. Physical-copy verification involves its stated software update and in-game eShop route. Check the exact current notice rather than assuming the discount appears through any store link.

Plan local play from the listing

The page names a local two-player option and compatible-controller requirements. That is separate from online campaign support, which should not be inferred from cloud-save membership text.

This is an edition guide, not a hands-on performance comparison. The important preparation is identifying which game, save and add-ons you already have before choosing the new package.
