Learn one Pokémon before chasing a tier list
Read its role and moves, then practice how it approaches, escapes and contributes to a team fight. A Pokémon with high damage can still struggle if it enters alone or ignores the team’s position.
Use the game’s practice and introductory modes to understand controls before interpreting a ranked result as a measure of the Pokémon’s strength.
Experience creates options
Collect appropriate wild-Pokémon experience and avoid repeatedly giving the opponent free defeats. A level gap can make a later objective much harder, so a quiet stretch of efficient farming can be valuable.
Keep an eye on the map instead of following only the nearest enemy. A teammate may need help protecting a goal or preparing for an objective while you are chasing a low-value fight.
Score with a reason
Carrying points is not the same as banking them. Look for a safe scoring window, and do not take a long isolated scoring attempt when the team needs you at a major fight.
Likewise, a successful knockout should lead to something useful: experience control, a scoring opening or an objective. Chasing another opponent indefinitely can give away the advantage you just earned.
Current maps and updates matter
Objectives, balance and ranked rules can change. The official site and in-game update notices are the reference for the current season. A beginner habit such as checking the map remains useful even when a named objective changes.
UNITE is a real-time team game, not a console RPG using the ordinary type-effectiveness chart. Do not use the main-series matchup tool to predict its damage. Learn the selected Pokémon’s actual moves and the current match rules.
