Tears of the Kingdom: using your abilities together

Learn what each opening ability changes, then combine them to solve a small problem. Tears of the Kingdom rewards understanding materials, space and timing more than copying one elaborate vehicle immediately.

Give each ability a clear job

Ultrahand moves and joins suitable objects. Fuse combines compatible materials with equipment. Ascend changes how you move through eligible overhead surfaces, while Recall reverses the movement of suitable objects.

Those tools overlap. A platform can be moved, attached, repositioned or used as part of a timing solution. Before building something large, ask which simple interaction the obstacle actually needs.

Test a small construction

Start with a stable base and one purpose, such as crossing a gap. Inspect orientation and attachments before adding more parts. A complicated machine with a weak connection can be harder to fix than a simple design that nearly works.

Check energy and device behavior before relying on a vehicle for a long trip. Learning the limit near a safe landing point is easier than discovering it above a dangerous drop.

Use materials deliberately

Fuse can turn an ordinary piece of equipment into something with a useful role. Read the material’s effect and consider whether you need damage, reach or another property. Keep a few practical options instead of spending every unusual material on the first weapon.

Explore at your own pace

The sky, surface and Depths create different navigation problems. Mark interesting places and return when you have a better tool or more supplies. Seeing an entrance does not mean you must finish the area immediately.

These are system-learning priorities rather than a story walkthrough. If you are following an older Breath of the Wild guide, check every ability reference: the games share a setting, but their toolkits are not interchangeable.
